Why a Statewide Association?

Kentucky farmers’ markets produce more than $7.5 million in revenue for more than 2000 farmers across the Commonwealth. Decisions are being made every day by various entities that interface with farmers' markets that affect the industry. It is time the markets had a voice.

There is power in numbers. Not only will the Association affect decision makers, but other benefits from a statewide association are possible. For instance, as a group we can negotiate for better rates for things such as insurance.

Farmers’ markets are a unique marketing venue requiring education opportunities directed at our special needs. The Association was formed primarily as an educational organization.

Sharing, networking and communication are more good reasons to join together to support our industry.

What's In It For Me?

At this time government and private entities are making decisions for farmers’ markets. These people need input from the people most affected to make the right decisions. By letting them know the real concerns of farmers' markets, these decisions will benefit each of us.

How Do I Become Involved?
  • Join the Association.
  • The Association is a young organization that needs your ideas, energy and support. Join an issue committee and help change things for you and your market.
  • Mark your calendar now to attend the annual meeting in January.
  • Use the Association to meet others with your concerns and join together to affect change.
  • Talk to your fellow vendors about the Association and getting involved.
